This Privacy Policy explains how Spontsy collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Spontsy mobile app and related services (the "Service").

1. Information we collect

Account information: basic profile details (like name and avatar) and authentication identifiers.
Invite links: if you arrive via a friend's invite link, we briefly store a salted, one-way hash of your network address (never the address itself) for up to 48 hours — used only so we can offer, with your consent, to connect you with the friend who invited you. It is never used for advertising or shared with anyone.
Location (optional): if you grant permission, we use your location to show nearby friends and help suggest meetup spots. You can change your availability and visibility anytime.
Camera / photos (optional): if you grant permission, you can take or choose photos for features like memories and your vibe scan.
On‑device face analysis: if you use the vibe scan, face analysis is processed on your device. We do not store or upload raw face images for analysis.
Usage and diagnostics: basic app events and error diagnostics to keep the Service reliable.

2. How we use information

Provide and operate the Service (the world map, plans, and chats).
Personalize your experience (e.g., your spirit animal).
Maintain safety, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms.
Fix bugs, improve performance, and develop new features.

3. How we share information

We don’t sell your personal information. We may share information:

With your friends: depending on your settings, friends may see your availability and a privacy‑safe (masked) location on Radar.
With service providers: to host the Service (e.g., database/auth hosting) and deliver core functionality.
For legal and safety reasons: to comply with law or protect users and the Service.

4. Data retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations. You can delete your account in the app’s Settings.

5. Your choices

Location and camera permissions are optional and revocable.
You can control your visibility using availability settings.
You can request account deletion in Settings.

6. Security

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
